Description

Technical gases play a critical role across a wide range of industries. Large volumes of nitrogen, oxygen, and argon are produced worldwide in air separation units, while other gases such as carbon dioxide are sourced from various industrial processes. Topics like carbon capture, utilization, and storage continue to gain attention, even though carbon dioxide has long been used in industrial applications. Depending on the gas source and downstream purification processes, gas quality must be carefully analyzed to meet application-specific requirements.

Quality requirements differ significantly between industrial sectors and are strongly influenced by regulatory and conformity standards. Industries such as medical gases and food and beverage production place particularly high demands on gas quality and consistency. As a result, reliable analytical methods are required to verify gas composition throughout production, processing, and distribution, ensuring that quality specifications are consistently met.

In this webinar, HORIBA presents how gas purity and overall gas quality can be measured using different analytical technologies. The session introduces continuous measurement techniques such as NDIR photometry and paramagnetic oxygen analysis, highlighting their capability to deliver online measurement results within seconds. Practical examples demonstrate how continuous gas analysis supports quality control and process monitoring in industrial and medical gas applications.
