Description

If shear-sensitive media are handled incorrectly, the consequences are often significant: even minor mechanical stresses can be enough to affect the structure of such fluids. This causes irreversible changes to properties such as viscosity, stability or function. In many applications, this is critical, as product quality suffers as a result. At the same time, it is not possible to completely avoid shear forces, as any pumping operation inevitably involves mechanical effects on the medium.

As a global specialist in the handling of complex media, NETZSCH is very familiar with these challenges. Complex fluids require a thorough understanding of their properties and of the interactions between the medium and the handling technology. The aim is to minimise the shear introduced and ensure the gentlest possible pumping.

In this webinar, Mikael Tekneyan, Team Leader Development Digital Products, will show you how modern simulation methods help to achieve this goal. You will learn how shear rate distributions within pumps can be calculated and evaluated, and why these findings play a central role in selecting the appropriate technology.

Using practical examples, the webinar illustrates how simulation and application expertise are combined to deliver the optimal solution for demanding, shear-sensitive media.
