Description

Vertical progressing cavity pumps play a crucial role in the oil and gas industry. They are exceptionally preferred where space is limited and for media with a low NPSHa value – they are often integrated directly into tanks.

Since vertical progressing cavity pumps cannot usually be permanently mounted on the floor, special measures are required during dimensioning and engineering. The aim is to avoid excessive loads on the building structure and to comply with the vibration limits specified in the API standard. Since both the pump size and the immersion depth must be individually adapted to the respective operating conditions, it is not possible to define uniform standards. However, incorrect design can result in significant costs and downtime. The design of such pumps is complex because various requirements interact with each other. Even experienced engineers cannot fully predict all influencing factors. This leads either to oversized solutions with economic disadvantages for the operator or, conversely, to vibration limits being exceeded and possible overload of mechanical components.

In this webinar with Ulrich Eibl, Director of Global Business Field Oil & Gas at NETZSCH, you will learn about the innovative method NETZSCH has developed to simplify dimensioning, precisely adapt the pump to requirements and thus ensure safe and reliable operation.
