What you can expect

In this webinar, ABEL demonstrates how the wastewater treatment plant G.I.D.A., in collaboration with ABEL, tapped into new efficiency gains and savings potential as part of a targeted plant modernization.

The starting point was the modernization of the feed system for the sewage sludge incineration plant. As part of the project, a hydraulically driven piston pump was replaced by the ABEL SDS solids diaphragm solution. The solution was developed in collaboration with the operator and is based on proven pump concepts from the mining industry, which were specifically adapted to the requirements of sewage sludge incineration.

A comparison with hydraulic piston pump technology reveals clear advantages of the ABEL SDS in terms of energy efficiency, maintenance requirements, plant availability, and technical design. These aspects make a significant contribution to the economic optimization of plant operations.

The ABEL SDS is complemented by the ABEL Smart Pump Assistant, an AI-powered monitoring solution for condition monitoring and maintenance optimization. Both the pump solution and the digital monitoring system are in-house developments by ABEL and are funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space.

Based on the conversion, G.I.D.A. stands to realize annual savings of approximately €50,000, resulting from higher pump efficiency, reduced maintenance times, and extended maintenance intervals.

In this webinar, ABEL provides insights into the project implementation and presents the technical and operational experiences gained from operating the new SDS pump solution.
